Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha (MKK), heute Teil von Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, ist der führende japanische Separator-Hersteller. Die SJ-Serie ist der Hauptkonkurrent zu Alfa Laval in Asien und de-facto-Standard auf japanischen Werften (IHI, Imabari, JMU). Die F-Variante (SJ-F) wurde ab Ende der 1990er mit verbessertem Steuerungssystem eingeführt. Marktanteil in Asien geschätzt 30-35%, global ca. 15%.
