Cavotec ist der Weltmarktführer für Shore Power Connection Systems (Cold Ironing / Alternative Maritime Power). Shore Connection ermöglicht Schiffen im Hafen, ihre Dieselgeneratoren abzuschalten und Strom vom Land zu beziehen — reduziert Emissionen und Lärm. EU verlangt ab 2030 Shore Power für alle großen Containerschiffe und Kreuzfahrtschiffe in EU-Häfen (FuelEU Maritime). IEC/IEEE 80005-1 standardisiert die Schnittstelle.
