Spare parts for ships and industrial machinery, including discontinued parts

OceanSphere sources spare parts for marine and industrial machinery worldwide, including parts the manufacturer no longer supplies. You send maker, type and part number (a nameplate photo is enough to start). We pass the request to our supplier network, check the answers and come back to you by e-mail.

In short

What we do

  • Sourcing of new, used, overhauled and surplus parts through our supplier network
  • Discontinued and obsolete parts: search for remaining stock, equivalent parts and specialist suppliers
  • If no source exists: manufacture to drawing or sample (see Machining) or reconstruction from a scan (see 3D printing and reverse engineering)
  • Identification of parts from nameplate, drawing, parts list or photo
  • Coordination of delivery to port, agent, yard or workshop

OceanSphere organises the job and stays your single point of contact. The work itself is carried out together with vetted partner companies and experienced service engineers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What if the part is discontinued?

We check whether it is still available from stock, surplus or specialist suppliers and whether an equivalent exists. If not, the part may be manufactured to drawing or sample (Machining) or reconstructed from a scan (3D printing and reverse engineering). Which route works depends on the part; we tell you in our reply.

Do I need a part number?

It helps, but it is not required. A photo of the nameplate and of the part, plus main dimensions, is often enough to start.

Can you supply used or overhauled parts?

Where they are available and acceptable for your application, yes. Tell us in the request whether you want original parts only or whether equivalents, used or overhauled parts are an option.

Can parts be delivered with certificates?

If you need class, material or test certificates, state this in the request. We then clarify with the supplier whether they can be provided.

Where do you deliver?

Worldwide: to a port, an agent, a shipyard or a workshop. Delivery terms are part of the offer.

Can I search before I send a request?

Yes. The parts platform at parts.oceansphere.io has a catalogue search and listings. If you do not find the part there, send a request and we search in the supplier network.

Is a request binding?

No. A request is not an order. We check it personally and come back by e-mail with an offer or with questions. Orders are subject to our General Terms of Business.

Who carries out the work?

OceanSphere organises and coordinates the job. The work is done together with vetted partner companies and experienced service engineers. You have one contact person who keeps the overview.
